Lots of awards and recognition for our CEO, Ted Hampton today! Congratulations to Mr. Ted Hampton on his tenure as the longest serving electric co-op manager/CEO in American history! Mr. Hampton became manager of Cumberland Valley Electric in 1964 and is still serving our members after 58 years! Mr. Hampton was recognized today at East Kentucky Power’s directors meeting.  

Mr. Ted Hampton was also selected as the recipient of the 2022 NRECA President’s Award! Thank you to Gov. Beshear, Senator Stivers, Senator McConnell, Senator Paul, Rocky Atkins, Tony Campbell and Chris Perry for their letters of recommendation for Mr. Hampton.

Today has been declared Ted Hampton Day across Knox County, Whitley County and Corbin! Congratulations to Mr. Hampton from Knox County Judge Executive, Mike Mitchell, Whitley County Judge Executive, Pat White and Corbin Mayor, Susie Razmuth!!

Harlan County Judge Executive, Dan Mosley, has declared Mr. Hampton an honorary coal miner! And Williamsburg Mayor, Roddy Harrison, has given Mr. Hampton the key to the city! Also, Tony Campbell and East Kentucky Power has named a lobby in honor of Mr. Hampton! Congratulations Mr. Hampton on your much deserved recognition!
